Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Kichitto is a mobile application that uses OCR to digitize receipts and invoices, then automatically saves the extracted data to your own Google Drive and Google Sheets. By using Kichitto you agree to these terms.

Kichitto is not an accounting service. We do not provide tax advice, bookkeeping services, or tax filing assistance. For tax matters, please consult a qualified tax professional.

3. Payment

All payments are processed through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Kichitto does not handle payment directly. Applicable store payment methods apply.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. To cancel, use the subscription management screen in the App Store or Google Play.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

• Monthly plans: Cancel anytime. No refund for the current billing period. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Annual plans: Refund requests within 14 days of purchase may be submitted through the App Store or Google Play (subject to Apple / Google's refund policy).
• Kichitto does not issue direct refunds. All refund decisions are made by Apple or Google per their store policies.

5. Your Data After Cancellation

Cancellation does not delete your data. All receipt images and OCR data remain in your Google Drive and Sheets because they belong to you, not us. To delete your Kichitto account, use Settings > Delete Account in the app.

6. Prohibited Uses

• Registering receipts belonging to third parties without their consent
• Using the service for illegal income documentation
• Reverse engineering or decompiling the app
• Exploiting security vulnerabilities
• Sending excessive requests that overload our servers

7. Data Accuracy and Your Duty to Verify

• (1) Kichitto analyzes receipt and invoice images using OCR and AI (such as Gemini) to automatically extract data such as the date, amount, vendor, and qualified-invoice registration number (T-number). These extraction and analysis results may contain errors, omissions, or duplicates depending on image clarity, capture conditions, layout, handwriting, or deficiencies in the original document, and we do not guarantee their accuracy or completeness in any way.
• (2) With your explicit authorization (OAuth consent), Kichitto writes the analysis results into your own Google Sheets. What we do is limited to auto-filling the extracted values and fields into the sheet that you own; we do not guarantee the accuracy of the sheet's contents, formulas, or aggregated/calculated results after writing. Calculation results in Google Sheets depend on Google's specifications and are outside our control.
• (3) OCR/AI analysis and synchronization to Google Drive / Google Sheets may involve a time lag. We are not responsible for delays, ordering, or temporary inconsistencies in how data is reflected.
• (4) Before using any auto-filled content for accounting, tax, or any other purpose, you are obligated to verify it yourself against the original receipt or invoice. Final confirmation of accuracy and any resulting decisions are your sole responsibility.
• (5) You understand and agree that Kichitto is an automated assistive tool that analyzes captured images and is not a substitute for your own review and verification, and you use the service on that basis.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

• (1) The service is provided "as is." We do not warrant, whether express or implied, the completeness, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability of the service.
• (2) We are not liable for any impact arising from failures, specification changes, or discontinuation of third-party services (Google, Apple, Cloudflare, etc.).
• (3) For responses from the National Tax Agency Web-API or other public APIs, you are responsible for confirming any tax-related judgment with a qualified tax professional.
• (4) We are not liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, inaccurate or lost data, tax disadvantages, lost profits, or indirect damages) arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, except in cases of our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
• (5) Even where we bear liability under the proviso of the preceding paragraph, no monetary compensation arises for free-plan users because we have received no fees from them; for paid-plan users, such liability shall not exceed the total fees paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the damage.

9. Service Changes

We will provide at least 30 days notice before making significant changes to, or discontinuing, the service. Emergency maintenance may occur without prior notice. Service termination does not affect your data in Google Drive or Sheets.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from use of Kichitto shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court with jurisdiction over the operator's registered address.
